On September 4, 2026 Magistrate Judge Ivan D. Davis granted in part and denied in part a motion to compel in Floyd v. Department of Justice (E.D. Va. 1:26-cv-01399), a challenge to the proposed $1.776 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund; the interrogatory at the centre asked the government to identify everyone involved in conceiving the Fund, and the government's answer stated that the Fund had not been created or operated.
Why it matters: The Fund was to be funded with $1.776 billion from the Judgment Fund, administered by five members appointed by the Attorney General and removable at will by the President, where a majority of a three-member quorum could act.
