Boling pleaded guilty in servicemember identity scheme
An Army medical records administrator photographed personal information. The October 20, 2026 plea names two conspiracy counts and a maximum of 20 years on each, and it states no dollar loss. The July 23, 2019 indictment charges millions of dollars of actual and attempted losses.
March report left out 20 million usable GSA square feet
The March 2026 utilization rates exclude GSA-controlled vacant space with no occupancy agreement. Leaving those feet out shrinks the denominator and lifts the rate. Table 2 puts the omitted space at 20,243,856 usable square feet as of July 2026.
Reported fraud losses by older adults hit $3 billion
The $3 billion is what got reported. The FTC's own report prints a modeled range of $13.3 billion to $119.5 billion and says high-loss underreporting is not well understood. Six percent of older adults' loss reports carried 70 percent of the dollars. The House passed H.R. 9500 on September 15 and the bill is not law.

Why it exists
