Zheng Zhao arraigned on alleged crypto laundering charge

Release 26-1258 says more than $36.9 million reached one Deltec Bank account and that Tether was sent on to Cambodia. Zhao is charged, not convicted. The maximum if convicted is 20 years. Pleas and prison terms on the page belong to other people.

On October 23, 2026, Zheng Zhao was arraigned after extradition from the Netherlands for an alleged role in a cryptocurrency laundering conspiracy the department says reached 174 victims in the United States.
